Learning and teaching of applied mathematics

For some years I have engaged in the learning and teaching of applied mathematics, both in practical teaching and as a research project. Especially mathematical thinking, mathematical modelling and problem solving. Also engineering education research more generally.

Course in mathematical modelling and problem solving

     Course in applied mathematical thinking

A presentation on mathematical thinking and how to teach it

Discrete optimization and operations research

Algorithms for scale 0-1 integer programming. Modelling and solving large airline problems, and other problems in transportation. For many years my work in this area was in cooperation with Jeppesen Systems (formerly Carmen Systems).

A presentation describing some aspects of this work

Data Science

In particular machine learning for graphical models and ODE models. Knowledge representation.

     ODEion and benchmark problems
