In this talk we will present and compare two approaches to construct a lock-free memory allocator. Both approaches, one by Maged Michael and the other one by Anders Gidenstam, Marina Papatriantafilou and Philippas Tsigas, are based on the lock-based HOARD memory allocator architecture by Emery Berger, which will also be discussed.
