Last week’s re-exam is now up!

14 Aug

In case anyone didn’t hear, the re-exam will be on Thursday the 21st of August, 8:30—12:30, in Maskinhuset (the red brick building on Hörsalsvägen).

27 May

Yesterday’s exam is now up, together with sample solutions.

26 May

The exam is in room HA1!

26 May 2014

About the exam: I haven’t been able to find out exactly which room the exam is in yet. But outside HA1 there’s a list of exams and their rooms (it only shows this morning’s exams at the moment though), so check there this afternoon. I will post here if I find out any more.

23 May 2014

A reminder that there’s information about the exam here. Notably, you can bring a handwritten fusklapp to the exam.

21 May 2014

If you’ve missed the final deadline for a lab, you can come to my office (5463) between 1pm and 3pm on Tuesday the 3rd of June and show me the lab in person to pass it.

16 May 2014

Two announcements:

  1. There is no lecture next Friday (the 23rd), even though it’s listed in TimeEdit. The last lecture is the one on Wednesday.

  2. The Fire system has switched to HTTPS but is using a self-signed certificate. This means you will get a security warning when you try to access it. You will need to tell your browser to accept the certificate if you want to access Fire.

14 May 2014

Several groups have had trouble making the lab 2 deadline, so I’ve extended the final deadline until the 16th of May (this Friday). The deadline for lab 3 is now the 23rd of May (there is no separate first and final deadline). If you don’t finish a lab in time, there will be a chance to pass the labs by showing me it in person: watch this space!

12 May 2014

In response to public demand, I’ve put up some more info about the exam plus a (sort of) sample exam.

07 May 2014

I’ve moved the lab 3 deadline back three days (to the 16th) because we won’t see red-black trees until today’s lecture. Because of that, I don’t think there’s time for a fourth lab so lab 4 is cancelled.

23 Apr 2014

Some disruption next week because of Valborg! The lecture on Wednesday the 30th is cancelled because it’s a half-day. The lab session on Tuesday the 29th is moved to Monday 8-12, just for next week.

22 Apr 2014

Lab 2 and 3 are up! Find them on the labs page.

08 Apr 2014

The exam is booked! It’s happening on the 26th of May in the afternoon in Hörsalsvägen.

07 Apr 2014

So it seems that there are now three versions of the fourth edition floating around! I’ve put up a page summarising the differences, and helping you tell which version you’ve got. The lectures page now gives chapter numbers for all three versions where they differ. I’ll do the same for the exercises page tomorrow.

07 Apr 2014

I’ve now got a copy of the new version of the fourth edition of the book that seems to have appeared. I’ve updated the lecture slides and exercises to refer to that edition.

02 Apr 2014

There was a bug in the benchmark program for lab 1—sometimes you’d get EXCEPTION if your algorithm ran too quickly. I’ve uploaded a new version.

01 Apr 2014

The exercises for the second week are up! Also, I moved the deadline for the hand-in backwards a few days, because the material you need for the final few questions doesn’t come until Wednesday. The deadline is now the 8th of April.

30 Mar 2014

The first lab about sorting is now up! The first deadline for it is the 11th of April.

24 Mar 2014

It seems there are two editions of the textbook around—they are both called the Fourth Edition but they have different chapter numbers! This is not very helpful (to say the least) if you are trying to do the exercises or follow along with the book. To find out which edition you have, look for the section on dynamic arrays—if it’s section 2.4, you have the same edition as me, but if it’s 4.2, you have another edition. I’ve ordered a copy of the Mystery Edition, but until it arrives there may be some problems with chapter numbers.

23 Mar 2014

The complexity hand-in is now up! So are the exercises for the first week, and the second lecture.

23 Mar 2014

We now have student representatives—see below for details.
