Meeting minutes from the first student representative meeting for course EDA421. Date: May 2 (Thursday) Time: 11:50 Room: EL 43 Comments, problems and ideas discussed: Lectures: - NP lecture seems to be very hard for the students, as a suggestion if it would be possible to discussed it more in the course - Suggestion on having a seminar when the papers could be discussed. Student should have read the papers and prepare questions - Suggestion on having students reading and presenting papers to each other - Summary of the results, conclusions and outcomes from the papers taken into account in the lecture to be uploaded on the home page - P-fair paper is not very clear and understandable Consultation session: - Feedback about question 3 not very helpful - The first consultation session people were mostly solving problems not asking too many questions. As a suggestion if it could be possible to have the first consultation session on the next Monday instead of Friday Homework: - How long it should be? It was discussed that not length is important but the correctness. If something is not clear in the report but explained well on the presentation there should be no problem. - How formal the answers should be? The proves should be formal. - Discussion about load sharing was carried out. The load could be shared but all the partners should understand the solutions of the problems. Home page and ping pong - Discussion on why the course have two pages - One problem about having two pages was that people were searching the homework assignment on the ping pong where the submission page is. - There was a discussion on migration of the home page to ping pong and as a comment was stated that since most of the courses are in ping pong it would be more convenient for the students.
