Hej and welcome!

This is the research home page of Ola Olsson, that is, me. I'm a recently graduated PhD from Chalmers University of Technology, where I was a member of the computer graphics group. My PhD advisor was Ulf Assarsson.

I defended my doctoral thesis on the 14th of February 2014, with Prof. Marc Stamminger as the faculty opponent. The thesis Real-Time Shading and Accurate Shadows Using GPGPU Techniques is available in full text through the Chalmers Publication Library. I thought slides (alternatively a, much smaller, pdf render) from my presentation (a quite small part of the defense in the Swedish version of events, around 20 minutes) may be of some interest to the general public, or at least to the special public that is interested in this stuff, as an intuitive introduction to the techniques I have developed. Note that they are quite different from the introduction in the thesis, focusing as they do on the more immediate computer graphics results, whereas the thesis takes a deeper look at the motivation stemming from the trends in GPU architecture. So read that too ;)
