News

2016-01-12 (11:50) The Fire system is available again. Please upload your solutions to Practical 6 Today.
2016-01-11 (19:45) There seems to be a problem with the Fire system this evening. I'll send an error report, but I don't expect it will be up again this evening. It's convenient to have all solutions in the Fire system so I propose to extend to deadline by one day. So please upload your solutions on Tuesday 12 January.
2015-12-18 Practical 6 is now online.
2015-12-16 Following requests at this morning's class, the deadline deadline for Practical 4 is extended to Friday 18 December. I shall be available at my office on Friday is anyone has any last-minute questions!
2015-12-14 I am aware that some student are taking course "DAT315 The Computer Scientist in Society", and might want to attend the guest lecture in that course at 11:00 on Wednesday 16 December. If you are one of those students, and are due to give a presentation of Practical 4 on Wednesday, please send me an e-mail message so that I can schedule your presentation between 10:00 and 11:00.
2015-12-14 Some general comments on practical 3.
2015-12-10 Please indicate which paper you will present by adding a comment in the Doodle poll. You should focus on one paper in your presentation (even though more than one should be discussed in your report). It would be good if students presenting on the same topic choose to present different papers next week - the comments in the Doodle poll can help coordinate this.
2015-12-09 To help schedule next week's short presentations, please could you indicate when you would like to present in this Doodle poll. To get through all of the presntations within the scheduled classes, please plan to present for a maximum of 5 minutes.
2015-11-27 All of the papers listed on the course pages should be accessible from within the Chalmers (and probably also GU) network. If you are not on campus, you can use VPN (Virtual Private Network). If you have difficulty accessing any of the materials, please let me know.
2015-11-06 Thanks to everyone who has participated in the Doodle poll. I can confirm that the Wednesday lectures have been moved to Monday afternoons (to avoid the timetable clash with "DAT315 The computer scientist in society"). The revised schedule is now in TimeEdit.
2015-09-16 Later in this course you will find it useful to look at protein structures with molecular visualisation software. You might want to take a look at RasMol, UCSF Chimera, Jmol or PyMOL.
