tokOLLE [Abstract] Our group has designed and assembled an artifact called tokOLLE. The aim of this project in Ubiquitous Computing was to explore the possibilities to design a system that prevent the user from becoming stressed and irritated in stressing situations or environments. The idea is to train people in not taking notice of disturbing things in their surroundings by confronting them to disturbing sound, light and movement. A GSR-sensor measures the users stress level and tokOLLE will react by disturbing light and sound. Furthermore tokOLLE can move around and vibrate. The calmer the user is, the more tokOLLE will react. The challenge for the user is to make the system as vivid and disturbing as possible. TokOLLE can be used at home for personal satisfaction, but we also thought of a use for therapeutical purposes. |
