This course is organized by ID|C (Interaction Design | CHALMERS) at Computing Science, Chalmers University of Technology. It is being held at the IT-University in Gothenburg, as a part of the Människa-Datorinteraktion/Interaktionsdesign (Human-Computer Interaction/Interaction Design) programme.


Content and Aim
The course introduces basic design methodology in interaction design with focus on design issues related to aesthetics. The ambition is to combine theory with practical training in how to systematically work with the design of computational things and systems.

Kursen syftar till att ge grundläggande kunskaper om centrala gestaltningsproblem inom interaktionsdesign samt metoder för att arbeta med dessa. Målsättningen är att kombinera teori med praktisk träning i att arbeta med frågeställningar rörande utformningen av datorbaserade produkter och system. Efter genomgången kurs ska man ha vetskap om och provat på flera designmetoder som är brukbara vid interaktionsdesign och övat upp sitt tänkande kring användandet av metoder i det egna designarbetet.


Examination
The final grading [U, 3/4/5 or G/VG] will be based on the assignments:
+ Two hand-ins, what to discuss at the article seminars, by group [U/G]
+ Project 1, oral and written presentation, by group [U/G]
+ Project 2, oral and written presentation, by group [worth 0-32p, 14 to pass]
+ Hemtenta, individual [worth 0-44p, 21p to pass]
and attendance at exercises.

Final grading:
U: 0 - 34p or U on any assignment.
3: 35 - 49p
4: 50 - 63p
5: 64 - 76p
and
G: 35 - 60p
VG: 61 - 76p
